A Skulduggery Collab

Woops, just short of that promised weekly update but oh well, not like much was really going on anyway. So yea, I nuked my DA journal because having two (the journal and blogger) seemed somewhat redundant to me, I'll still most likely use my DA journal for important news THAT EVERYONE MUST BE MADE AWARE OF, but I'll keep my blabbing on here, as it was designed for.

Anyway, onto my main point. A few people on Deviantart have suggested that I try and do a Collaboration image with Tom Percival, needless to say a Skulduggery one. Now while that would be incredibly awesome, I'm apprehensive about such an endeavour, mostly about contacting him or even Derek. Not that I know how to contact Tom but what would they think? I'd feel kind of bad in a sense for bringing the idea up, I'm just the Fan Artist here after all, I'm not sure I have the business to be suggesting ideas such as that. Is my art skill even on-par for such an undertaking? I'd like to think it's improved a lot from the first Skulduggery images, and indeed just a lot in general recently, action poses in general as the Skulduggery commission sketch for tinasboy below shows.

Incidentally I hope this is the direction in which you are hoping for the action shot to go. I still have a bit more work to do the sketch so far and the gun will be interesting to draw as I usually don't draw such things.

Ravean's commission is slowly moving along as well, as I sit wondering how I'm going to colour those beautiful long feathers and not totally make a bodge job out of it, that's really the last thing I want to happen since I'm very proud of it so far. Sorry about the missing background, I had to take it away and crop the image since the huge size was making my computer cry with every undo or save.

And lastly a personal sketch I had been... sketching a month or so back for Halloween, but I never really got round to finishing it as you can see. I will complete it however, once some more commissions are out of the way, just don't know what I was thinking with it...

You want him, you know it.

Commission Updates

Well so much for me keeping this thing updated, In fact I totally forgot about it because I did start blabbing on in my DA journal instead. So I think I may just keep this for WIP's on current work and commission works for people to check up on, seems a lot better than constantly emailing and noting people, unless they ask for it of course. I have a whole bunch of work upcoming, commissions and personal, quite a few Skulduggery Pleasant images too, Which is awesome, I miss drawing the guy.

So without further babbling, here is the first of... one commission update.

The first being Ravean's Jasmine in the shading stages, I've still yet to make adjustments to her skin tone so it blends more with the background. Trying to figure out how to shade feathers is a little trippy but I'm hoping it looks ok so far.

In other news I've decided to make myself a new persona. Well not new per-say, she's been around for ages, she simply got a design update. The reason for this is I don't feel as if my dragonsona or fursona really reflected me as a whole. My dragon sona was actually a character in an RP before I saw that nearly everyone on Deviantart had one, I was pretty new to the concept at the time too, so it was like "I gotta get me one of dem :I" but I didn't really think it through I guess. However, now that I've given it thought I'm a lot more happy with a humanoid persona, and actually going back to a character that's long represented me:

Deary deary me

I never thought that I would ever try giving a blog a go but there's a lot of WIP and rambling (speculation on different subjects) that I want to slap up somewhere and well, why not in a blog, tried wiki's and all that but they are just too much upkeep. I'll of course keep updating my Deviantart account with the bulk of my finished art work but most sketches and unfinished works will most likely spring up here at some point in the future.

So why am I posting things here rather than just keeping my behind on Deviantart? Mostly to avoid the favourite system, I have a horrible habit of becoming competitive over the number of faves my work receives and I really just want to stomp that out. Not to mention the journal system feels inadequate for taking copious amounts of rubbish on about things I like and often speculate over like a geek.

I suppose the next few months or so will be taken up mostly by Skulduggery fan work and concept designs, yes I'm hooked, the books are so damn awesome and need a hell of a lot more attention than they already have. A HELL of a lot more for god sakes! That being said there is the movie supposedly still on its way, though I've not heard much else on that, sadly.

And so here is the first WIP which has actually been floating around for a while now:

I've only just been able to actually start anything on it what with my foot being horribly swollen from Cellulitis (Which is thankfully now starting to disappear thanks to this foul-tasting medicine mmmm). Still undecided if I should go full colour on Mr Pleasant there or try Black & White.

Decisions, Decisions.
